Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 30 August 2026

These terms apply when you book a free trial lesson or enroll in a course with Zumrut Labs ("we", "us"). By registering, you agree to them.

1. What we provide

We deliver live, online game development courses. Each course listing on our site states its duration, the number of sessions per week, the length of a session and what the course covers. Sessions are taught one-to-one by an instructor over video call, in English or Turkish.

Course content and schedules may be adjusted where this improves the course or is necessary for practical reasons. If a change materially affects what you signed up for, we will tell you in advance.

2. The free trial lesson

The trial lesson is a single session of approximately 30 minutes, free of charge, with no obligation to enroll and no payment details required. It is offered once per person. We may reschedule a trial lesson if necessary.

3. Enrollment and payment

  • You register by completing the form for the course you want. Registration is a request for a place, not yet a confirmed booking.
  • Your place is confirmed once we reply by email and payment has been received.
  • Prices are shown on the course listing in euros. The price you see is the total price: no VAT, booking fee or other charge is added on top of it.
  • Payment is made by bank transfer, to the account details on the invoice we send you by email. We do not ask for card details and never see them.
  • Discounted prices apply only while the offer is shown on the site.

4. Cancellation and refunds

Enrolling online is a distance purchase, so Finnish and EU consumer law gives you a 14-day right of withdrawal running from the day we confirm your place by email. You do not have to give a reason — write to info@zumrutlabs.com. If your course starts inside those 14 days it does so at your request, and a withdrawal after that point is settled on the pro-rata basis below.

Our own policy is more generous than that statutory minimum, and it applies for the whole length of the course rather than only the first 14 days:

  • You cancel before the first session. Full refund, however late you tell us.
  • You cancel once the course has started. We refund the price of every session that has not yet been held. Sessions already taught are not refunded.
  • We cancel, or cannot finish a course. Full refund of every session not yet held. We will offer you a new start date first, and the choice between that and the refund is yours.

Refunds are paid back to the account the payment came from, within 14 days of us agreeing the amount with you.

5. Missed sessions

Because lessons are one-to-one, a session can usually just be moved. Tell us at least 24 hours before it starts and we will reschedule it at no cost. With less than 24 hours' notice, or if you do not appear, the session counts as held — but tell us anyway. If something has genuinely gone wrong we would rather sort it out than count sessions.

We do not record lessons unless you ask us to and we agree it in advance. Notes, code and project files created during a session are yours and stay with you.

6. What you need

You are responsible for having a computer capable of running Unity, a working internet connection and audio. We will help you check this during the trial lesson. We cannot refund sessions missed because of problems with your own equipment or connection.

Unity is licensed to you by Unity Technologies under their own terms. Zumrut Labs is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Unity Technologies.

7. Course materials and your work

Slides, exercises and other materials we provide remain our intellectual property. They are for your personal learning only and may not be recorded, shared, resold or used to teach others without our written permission.

The game you build during a course is yours. You may publish, share or sell it freely.

8. Conduct

Our sessions are one-to-one. We may end a course, without refund, for behaviour that harasses or abuses the instructor.

9. Liability

We provide our courses with reasonable skill and care, but we do not guarantee any particular career, employment or commercial outcome. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer under Finnish law.

10. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Finnish law. Consumer disputes may be referred to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) after first contacting the Consumer Advisory Service.
