This policy explains what personal data Zumrut Labs ("we", "us") collects when you use zumrutlabs.com or take part in our courses, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Zumrut Labs, Finland. For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at info@zumrutlabs.com.
We are a private trader (toiminimi) registered in Finland under business ID . Our registered address is . We are not required to appoint a data protection officer, so any question about your data is answered by us directly at the address above.
2. What we collect
- Information you give us. When you book a free trial lesson or register for a course, we collect the details you enter in the form — typically your name, email address, and anything you choose to tell us about your experience level and availability.
- Course delivery data. If you enroll, we keep a record of which course you are on, your schedule, and correspondence related to your participation.
- Payment information. Course fees are paid by bank transfer. We see what our bank shows us — the name on the transfer, the amount and the reference — and we keep the invoice for our bookkeeping. We never ask for, see or store card details.
- Technical data. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data such as IP address and browser type in order to serve and protect the site.
3. Why we use it
- To arrange and deliver your free trial lesson and your course.
- To contact you about your booking, schedule changes and course materials.
- To take payment and meet our bookkeeping obligations under Finnish law.
- To keep the website secure and working.
We rely on the performance of our contract with you for course delivery, on your consent for optional marketing, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Services we use
We use third-party services to run the site and our courses. Each processes some data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery.
- Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address when you view a page.
- Google Forms — the free trial lesson and course registration forms. What you type into a form is stored in our Google account.
- Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Discord — live lessons. You and your instructor agree which one to use before the course starts, and you only ever need an account for the one you choose.
Course payments are made by bank transfer, so there is no payment processor in between: the transaction is handled by your bank and ours.
5. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking data for as long as needed to answer you and, if you enroll, for the duration of your course. Accounting records are retained for the period required by Finnish bookkeeping law. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased, where we have no ongoing need for it;
- object to or restrict how we process it;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these, email info@zumrutlabs.com. If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
7. Cookies
This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. We store one small item in your browser's local storage to remember that you dismissed the announcement bar at the top of the page. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it.
We do not use analytics, advertising or any other tracking tool. If that ever changes, this page will say so and we will ask for your consent before setting anything.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes affecting enrolled students will also be sent by email.
